What Dobies sells
Dobies has been posting seeds to British gardeners since 1894, and the catalogue still rests on that base: vegetable and flower seeds, seed potatoes, bulbs, nursery plants and fruit, alongside the compost, feeds and lawn care that go with them. The first seedlings went out by post in 1979, and plug plants are now a large share of what lands on the doorstep each spring. Because seed baskets are small, postage and a Dobies discount code together move the total more than they would on a big hardware order, so it pays to line both up before the sowing season starts.
Delivery and the condition guarantee
Carriage is £2.99 when the order is packet seed only and £6.99 for other products, and a basket that mixes the two is charged a combined £7.99. Nursery plants travel nationwide, but plug plants, bedding and tender vegetable plants cannot be sent to some remote parts of the UK, so it is worth checking your postcode before building a plant order. If anything arrives in poor condition, Dobies asks to hear within 14 days, and its stated liability covers the cost of the goods as quoted plus the delivery charge.
Regular ways to save at Dobies
The clearance and end of season pages are where prices fall without any voucher code, especially once the sowing window for a crop has closed and stock has to move. Gardening clubs and allotment societies buy together through the Dobies seed scheme at reduced prices, which is worth asking your committee about if you belong to one. For the tools, timber and larger garden hardware a seed catalogue does not carry, Machine Mart and Homebase fill the gap, and there are more garden offers at cpncodes if you are planning a whole season at once.

Packet seed only orders carry a £2.99 charge and all other products £6.99. If the basket contains both, a combined charge of £7.99 applies.

Dobies was established in 1894, so the business is over 125 years old. It began sending seedlings through the post in 1979.

Does Dobies deliver plants anywhere in the UK?
Most nursery plants are offered nationwide, but plugs, bedding and tender vegetable plants cannot be sent to certain remote areas. The restriction is flagged on the relevant product pages.

Bulbs, seed potatoes, nursery and fruit plants, compost, plant feeds, lawn seed and general garden equipment. The lawn care range includes Dobies own premium lawn seed.
Is there a Dobies student or NHS discount?
Dobies does not advertise a student or NHS scheme. The reliable savings are the clearance pages, the club seed scheme and seasonal promo codes.
Where do I enter a Dobies voucher code?
The promotional code box appears during checkout, before payment. Apply it there and confirm the goods total has changed before you finish.
