Suttons statistics
The latest code was added in October 2026, we monitor and update this page continuously. The average Suttons discount is 10%, today's best of 10% holds up well.
Who Suttons suits
Gardeners who grow from seed get the most out of Suttons, and its voucher codes usually target seasonal ranges such as bulbs, onion sets and bedding plants, while the Gardening Club takes a fixed percentage off everything. The seed house has traded since 1806, holds a Royal Warrant and ships from Paignton in Devon. The range runs from seed packets and plug plants to seed potatoes, raised beds and greenhouses.
Paying less through the Gardening Club and referrals
Membership of the Suttons Gardening Club costs £10 for twelve months and takes 10% off every online order automatically, so no promo code is needed for that part. New members also get six £5 vouchers for online orders over £20 (delivery excluded), which means two or three seasonal orders more than cover the fee, and picking the rolling subscription over a single year adds one more £5 voucher. Once you have ordered, the Mention Me scheme lets you refer a friend by name, email or a personal link, and when they place a first order you both receive 20% off plants, bulbs and seeds.
Carriage and despatch notes
Delivery is priced by what is in the basket rather than by its value: seed packets on their own cost £2.99 to send, anything else is £6.99, and a mix of both is capped at £7.99, while bulky lorry items carry £9.99 or £24.99. One bigger seasonal order therefore beats several small ones. Orders placed Sunday to Thursday are despatched within 24 hours, although live plants travel separately on their own timetable. Northern Ireland is not served at present.
For a second opinion on vegetable seed, Dobies is the obvious comparison, and shrubs and perennials are worth pricing up with the offers from Carbeth Plants.
FAQ
How long has Suttons been going, and where does it ship from?
Suttons dates back to 1806 and holds a Royal Warrant. Orders are sent from Woodview Road in Paignton, Devon, and the business is a division of Branded Garden Products Limited.
Is the £10 Suttons Gardening Club worth joining?
For anyone ordering more than once a year it usually is. Membership takes 10% off every online order automatically and includes six £5 vouchers for orders over £20, so two or three orders recover the fee.
What does Suttons charge for delivery?
Seed packets alone cost £2.99, other products £6.99, and a mixed order £7.99. Large items marked with a lorry colour cost £9.99 (red) or £24.99 (purple).
Does Suttons deliver to Northern Ireland?
Not at the moment. Suttons supplies UK addresses excluding Northern Ireland, and plugs, bedding and tender vegetable plants cannot be sent to some Highland and island postcodes.
How does the Suttons refer-a-friend reward work?
After your own first order you can refer friends through Mention Me by name, email or a personal link. When a friend completes a first order, you each get 20% off plants, bulbs and seeds.
Can I get a Suttons NHS or student discount?
Neither an NHS nor a student scheme appears on the Suttons website, so treat codes claiming one with caution. Anyone can join the Gardening Club, and its 10% member discount is the nearest thing to a standing scheme.
Is there a discount code for a first Suttons order?
Signing up to the Suttons email list brings exclusive offers, and being referred by an existing customer gives you 20% off a first order of plants, bulbs and seeds.
